Hello guys, I have a little question right now. I'm planning buy one game of SOUL CALIBUR for PS3 (well, not immediatly :P) but, which game would be better: SCIV or SCV? I only know that in SCV doesn't appears Taki, and that is very bad :´(. Well, what would you recommend me?
This is a hard toss if you want a favorite character. If you want legit, here's a quick toss:
SC4
- Has Taki, Zasalamel, Talim, Mi-na
- Equipment option is very limited
- Is good as a standalone, does not require DLCs
- Has Darth Vader
SC5
- Have unmemorable new characters
- Equipment option is expanded, but still limited
- Has movable accessory and equipment texturing
- Is very bad as a stand alone, requires a truckload of DLCs
- No Darth Vader
With all of its DLC, SC5 is better due to the customizable texture gimmick and accessory, but it requires a lot of money. If you can buy only one, you can opt for SC5 and all its DLC, while using Emulator to play Broken Destiny.
However, here's the tricky part:
- SC4 is disc only
- SC5 is available as Digital Download for $20. All other DLCs are listed here.
- If you have access to Europe PSN, there is a Legendary Edition, with most DLC including the special edition for $45, thought it is not all, it is the only way to obtain the special edition armor DLC.
SC5 hands down. SC4 was a game I regretted buying before I had a PS3. SC5 I had more fun creating characters even with the removed styles from 4.
If you see Soulcalibur: Lost Swords don't download it, while free it's a terribly handled F2P game.
